No fun at all
Today we went against our ethos of local shopping and we trekked almost into Seville for supplies.
In our defence, there is no local shopping here... at least not in the sense of being walkable. It is 7.5 kilometres to Hinojos, where there is at least one small local supermarket but Mr Snail thought we would not find parking for Vincent.
Additionally, we are staying here for a month and if we are to avoid driving off frequently we needed.to buy plenty, although we have no room for storage.
The answer to our challenges was apparently to purchase a tent and so we set off for a Carrefour with an adjacent Decathlon store. The retail park was sited close to the motorway in one of Seville's satellite towns.
We got there in one piece and bought a cheap tent and some trainers before failing to find a suitable data SIM. Then we went to the pet shop for a new harness for Nell, along with a fresh Tic collar and some food and treats. I was reduced to hopeless sobbing by the array of live animals on sale, the puppies especially breaking my heart. If I could have rescued them all, I would have done so.
Being hungry by then we grabbed a burger lunch before inhaling deeply and venturing into Carrefour. Lord only knows what we bought, because I don't. We were weary and just wanted to go home.
Arriving back on site at sundown we wimped out on erecting the tent. What would fit in the fridge has gone in and the remainder is in carrier bags behind the cabin seats (turned as they are into the habitation). Tomorrow will be soon enough.
I would not wish to repeat this day. Thankfully there are closer options so as long as we don't need to return any purchases... On the brightest side, we can hire bikes here and pedal into Hinojos one day. It's a pretty flat ride, mostly on cycle path and I think my knee might be up to it...
