Homecoming 2012

This morning I went to Courtney's house at 9:00 to help load the pieces of the float into the trailer. I had to tutor from 10-11, but I met them all at Beech Street for the parade. I wandered around looking at the floats and talking to the kids that were in the running for Homecoming King and Queen. Our float's theme was The Little Mermaid, and I think we did a great job. Walking in the parade was fun, and we cheered and sang the whole way to the school. I saw a ton of kids that are home from college for the weekend, including (but not limited to) Maureen, Kimmy, Shannon, Lindsey, Peter, Vicky, Jenn, and Marissa. I spoke with them instead of watching the game (oops) and at halftime I went on the track to get ready to announce the King and Queen. I didn't throw up when I spoke in front of the whole town! Woo! Congratulations to Anthony and Aly, Wantagh's Homecoming King and Queen 2012, and to Joe, Hailey, Stef, and Roddy, the Homecoming Court. After the game, Brandon drove Shannon, Cheese, and I home. We met up later and went to Panera for dinner. I introduced Shannon to the mac and cheese and now she's addicted. We went back to Cheese's house and eventually K-Po, Dolley, and Thomas met us there. We walked to Hershey's and ran into a whole mess of seniors looking to cause a ruckus. After getting my ice cream, we walked back to Cheese's house and sat in his back yard talking until we had to leave. I can't wait till they all come back around Thanksgiving time.
