Ice climbing
These guys were making them most of friction on grit and didn't look chilly at all. We on the other hand, waited til midday to find the 4 degrees only to discover the thermometer didn't rise above zero and the steady climb to Embsay coated in a sheet of ice.
We met a few cyclists gingerly descending and were very pleased we'd happened to choose the reverse route. Thankfully, the steeper part was ice free as was our descent but we took it very steady.
It was a great to be back out, burning a bit of energy and working muscles after yesterday's long car journey.
