Tightly Wrapped

Spent a frustrating day making a big casserole and a cake for a birthday party for Eric, his brother, and a nephew. I couldn't find ingredients I KNOW I bought, used less than satisfying substitutes, two trips to the store, and the day was shot. But the party was warm and fun with everyone together in the old family home. The icing for the cake was very slippery so I used chopsticks and plastic wrap to stabilize it for its trip across town.
There were 13 of us around the table, make that 13 1/2 with a new Olson due in one month. That's brother Kent, left, andEric in the extra.
