Autumn

Must have been the brighter weather today that's caused so many folk to blip autumnal shots. The colours look so good against a blue sky, it's hard not to!

Poor Freya had to go and see the out of hours GP this morning who confirmed that she has a "right minging case of tonsillitis" and gave her some penicillin. I was following the modern advice of painkillers, fluids and rest from the nhs website as they are less keen to dish out antibiotics these days but I have never seen or had a case of tonsillitis that went away of it's own accord yet and with my and Freya's combined record we've seen quite a few between us. Lesson learned, next time it strikes I'll be calling straight to the doctors and just wish I hadn't put her through a day of misery yesterday hoping it would get better.

Today was actually quite an historic day as Marisol came round for Sunday dinner which Carlos cooked. She sat in a corner of the kitchen quite mesmerised, watching her younger brother do something she never imagined he would do. His cottage pie was delicious and lived up to Noah's recommendation as he had earlier told her how good Carlos' food was and that she would enjoy her dinner. With the drugs taking effect Freya even managed to emerge from her room and join us for a little dinner which was her first proper non-invalid meal since Friday.

It's nice to be off tomorrow, hoping Freya feels even better as she's got a couple of days at her dad's planned and a gig to go to tomorrow night.
