ship ahoy!

This appeared at the bottom of the garden around 10.30 this morning.  It was gone by 11.00.  No idea what caused it.

A very pleasant afternoon at a 50th birthday party for one of Anniemay’s old teaching colleagues.  Apart from lots of lovely food and drink the inevitable photo albums from their school days are brought out: “do you remember this …”

Those of most interest to Anniemay date from the early 1990s.  She forgot to bring her glasses with her so keeps passing them to me with “am I in this one?”

I’m treated to another side of Anniemay as a blurry record of their weekends away at various activity centres are passed around.

The daytime photos mostly feature people in very dubious shorts, tied up with bits of rope either hanging from, or attempting to climb up, rock faces.

The evening photos feature equally dodgy clothing and some very ‘tired and emotional’  people playing party games such as ‘Mr Crusty says parsnip’ and ‘pass the Kit-Kat’.

Fortunately these weekends were training sessions for staff, so no children (or their parents) were present to witness the fun.
