Very Berry Nice

We've spent a very pleasant and gastronomic evening with friends who live right out in the sticks and have had their first Christmas in their lovely new house which they were keen to show off.  Our hostess had no need to show off her culinary skills though, she's an expert (and at everything else she does beautifully too).  There were two other  guests staying for the weekend as our host was going to work on F's bike and M was going to put  lights up in the high ceilings of the sitting and dining rooms.  F & M are also very good friends of ours and who we hadn't seen in ages, so it was great to all be together again.  Dinner was fantastic, the pudding a masterpiece and a fair proportion of the conversations were about aviation and cycling! 

Ooooops, what happened to our proposed New Year food intake regime?!
