Catkins and a little extra
On my way to visit Juliet I noticed these Hazel catkins beside the road, I picked a small twig so I could take a few shots in the controlled lighting of my car. It was then that I realized this tiny spiderling was using them as a home. I think the spider is one of the Long-jawed orb weavers Tetragnatha sp, although they are usually found on low growing vegetation near water.
I was absolutely delighted, ANY life in the midst of winter is a bonus in my opinion!
