Titanic Belfast

Took this shot outside the Titanic Belfast exhibition, part of the old docks where it was first built.

The exhibition is part of a huge multi-million development in this area coinciding with the 100 years since the building of this ship. I'm sure the building itself will become an iconic part of the Belfast landscape.

Its very state of the art with lots of interactives, a ride, fancy videos, reconstructions, etc. There weren't any actual objects from the Titanic though. The overall mood of it seemed to be quite celebratory, focusing on the achievement of engineering, rather than focusing on the scale of the tragedy. Everyone in Belfast always seems rather proud of the Titanic, which to be honest I've alway found a little odd. Still the sheer scale of the ship is rather amazing.
