The Red and the Black
I couldn't resist this allusion to Stendahl's classic novel, Le Rouge et le Noir. This is a Carrion Crow, found in Western Europe and seen fairly regularly from our 5th floor in Paris's 13th arrondissement. A lazy day, recovering from jet lag and catching up on our sleep. I've been a bit lazy, just posting yesterday's blip: a night view of the Rue Mouffetard, an iconic street on the Left Bank--especially vivid against the black (click the double arrows).
My local ornithologist email commentator, who often doubles as a punster, commented: "I guess that bird came with you on your flight as carrion luggage."
