Portrait Library

A day in Edinburgh.  It has a strange end-of-party feel about it.  Still a surprising number of visitors around though the attractions are being dismantled and the others are looking increasingly sad.  It seems lots of folk had a good time.
The main purpose of the visit was an exhibition at the Portrait Gallery.  A wonderful photographic exhibition on childhood through the ages - or at least since photography appeared!  There were some memorable images and reminders of the poverty and squalor which some children had to endure.
The BP Portrait Exhibition was also on.  Another visual treat.
The blip is of the library - fascinating.
