As the plane descended through thick clouds this morning, I saw snow blowing and began to wonder if I was on the wrong plane. When we landed, it was just rain, not a drizzle but torrential, blowing rain and it was bitterly cold. Could this be Florida? Yes, indeed it is.
Fortunately, the rain cleared out in the afternoon, but the temperatures have not recovered and I am glad I have brought my fleece, hat, and gloves because there will no improvement in temperatures during the few days that I am here. These ibises seem unfazed by it but I can assure you the human Floridians are not. For me, it is still a respite from the below freezing temperatures I left behind.
