Bits
It was a day of bits. N and I cleared up all the bits that got blown over by the big storm last night. Then I did a bit of report writing, but couldn't really settle to it. We went to the DIY store and bought some bits, mainly to take to France at the end of the month. Later, I swapped some bits from one watch to another and am now wearing a fully functioning and very nice "panda dial" chronograph made out of two watches, which I bought cheaply as broken bits. I repaired the lock and handle mechanism on the garage door, one side of which had broken to bits. I had to take the whole lock apart and swap the right handed bits for the left handed bits (why are one's circlip pliers always in the country that one is not currently in?). Anyway, bits got swapped and the door lock now works again, no new bits required. The wind was blowing hard whilst I was working at this, the rain was flailing horizontally into my face and my fingers were going numb. Maybe I am a bit crazy, but I could only think "I am loving this"!! And so, to the Blip. The Blip is a detail (a small bit) from a watercolour that I painted a few years ago of Loubressac, a village where we used to live. I photographed it at wide aperture and at an angle to try to get the effect of looking down the row of houses with the near one in focus and the far away ones out of focus. A large bit of me wishes I were there.
