Botanic Gardens

A change of scene for us today when we visited the Botanic Gardens. We'd been before but our memories of the one here in Rio, the Sao Paulo one and the one in Santiago, Chile had all become one!  Armed with hats, suntan cream, mozzie spray and water, off we headed. It's obviously not the best time to visit it to see it in its glory - in the height of summer - but very enjoyable all the same. I came away with a few ideas for our wee botanic gardens patio in Barcelona!  

Lovely lunch in Bistro Lorenzo round the corner from the gardens, when blip came in very handy as a reminder of when we'd been here before and what we'd both eaten!  A siesta and watched the last programme available of The Real Tour (Thailand) and a walk along the front of Copacabana at night. 

My blip's got a glimpse of the Homage to Matisse sculpture in the background. See extras for the whole thing and a shot of mirrors which help to show off the height and tops of trees.  The shot of the sculpture made me think about how self-conscious we can all be about our bodies - flabby arms, fat stomach, fat legs - and how unnecessary it is. I'm not suggesting we should all just let ourselves go, but shouldn't wait till we've got 'perfect' bodies haha till we do things!
