Day one of our volunteering at WFFT. We’ve chosen to work with the elephants in our time here. Their stories make me cry. Most of them are over 50, and have been bought from the tourist industry. When you’re thinking of taking an elephant ride out here, it’s easy to forget the back story to these beautiful creatures, who have typically been tortured and broken into submission. It’s truly heartbreaking.
