Tarapuka/ black billed gulls

- not an 'ordinary seagull' they are  only found in this country, are 'nationally critical' and are protected.  Saw this one  alongside where I parked in town today.  I spent  most of the day staking and tying up plants as much as possible in anticipation of tomorrow's weather.
