New Year, New Promise...and memories

A stunning rainbow to start off the year. Today was a day of heavy showers and black skies interspersed with beautiful rainbows.

If we didn't have rain we wouldn't have rainbows, nor would we have a beautiful country rich with plants and flowers..... nor would we need umbrellas!


My grandfather, who was born in 1891 wrote in my autograph book when I was very young....

The rain it raineth on the Just and on the Unjust fellows.
But more upon the Just because... The Unjust pinched the Justs' umbrellas!

He drew a wee picture to go with it and whenever I see umbrellas I remember him and smile!
