The Cardinal.

Named after the royal red vestments worn by Catholic Cardinals and if seen in your garden it is believed, by some, to be a visitor from Heaven. The brilliant red colour of the male cardinal bird, is a reminder of warmth, passion and vibrancy, even under the cloak of  winter's grey clouds, but especially lovely against a backdrop of snow. Call upon the cardinal bird when you have the winter blues and it's beauty will give you energy and vitality. The only one I see is this lovely brooch, a gift from my youngest daughter in Colorado Springs.
