Wallowa Mountains

Yesterday I managed to get the parents (our friends with kids) out early for an easy looking walk I had scouted the day before. I might have under sold it because in the end it as a bit icy and they did not bring their kid carriers and should have.

At the end of a Wallowa Lake is the grave of Chief Joseph, and important Native American leader from the 19th century. There is also a traditional Native American burial area which is fenced off from cattle and various private properties. We spend some time walking in this, then onto a country trail which adjoins. Anyway, it was lovely as you can see from this image.

I took photos all the way out, then put my camera away and carried one of the 1.5 year olds back out on my shoulders. That is what you get when you are a cool "uncle" or convince your friends they don't need carriers when they really do because you want to take pictures. :-D

All in all a great start to a new year.
