Pigeonniere, St. Pierre du Bois

Today I took a trip out to St. Peters, to look at a building that I've wanted to blip for some time. This old barn contains a 'Pigeonniere', for housing pigeons. You can see the numerous rows of holes in the granite where the birds could enter and little stone perches.
In past centuries when Guernsey had a feudal system, only the 'seigneur' had the right to breed pigeons / doves. However from the evidence of some sixteenth century buildings that still stand, it appears that some tenants were permitted to create pigeon holes in their farm buildings.
