Into the New Year
And so the start of a new year. Always sobering.
We have had very little sun over the last week or so, this morning was therefore a bit of a treat. It did not last, and by 1.30pm we were back to drabness and rain.
We visited Tatton briefly this morning. The gardens are home to some magnificent old oaks. The blip is of a long shadow in the gardens cast by a huge lucombe oak tree. It is a natural hybrid of the turkey oak and the cork oak, and was first spotted by William Lucombe in 1762. Apparently.
