New Year 'Dook' in Broughty Ferry
A fine, bright day to start the year
We had a very quiet Hogmany, just the two of us celebrating the turn of the year. It was lovely, as we looked forward to us both being fitter and leaner in the New Year.
In the afternoon, we went down to watch the annual 'Dook' at Broughty Ferry Harbour. There were hundreds of people watching as dozens of mad people braved the freezing cold waters of the River Tay. At least it was sunny for the spectatators although a fresh, chill wind.
Two years ago, it was icy cold and we were able to stand on the jetty just beside the swimmers, but this year, with the crowds, we had to stand on the banks of the Castle on the other side, hence the rather long shot of the swimmers.

I do wish all my Blip friends a very happy New Year - keeeep blipping!
