Welcome to Bristol

A New Year!

Didn't rush out to the traditional street singing of Auld Lang Syne but instead treated myself to a bit of Adam Buxton's podcast.

Marathon training top up started in earnest this morning with a 9 mile run. I'm hoping that there's still something left from the last marathon at the end of October. Whether or not there is, I had a lovely, relaxing run in the rain - just the right temperature, just the right amount of rain.

Of course, as I sit here writing this, there are beautiful blue skies.

In for 2018 - more exercise, more meaningful activities, more books read, join a yoga class, take a picture every day (I should be able to by now!)

Out for 2018 - little/no meat, a bit less rubbish TV, a touch less prevarication/procrastination, a lot less moaning.

Inset day tomorrow may or may not get me back to work with a soft bump.

The picture is on the end of a road leading up to Montpelier station. I took it at the end of the run, having failed to spot anything else. This stretch of the Gloucester/Cheltenham Road is often held up as the longest stretch of independent shops in the country. Tesco, Sainsbury's and Costa have sneaked into the line-up so perhaps that record is blown?
