Oil or healthy Land?

As I got out to fill up with petrol and therefore be able to get to people & places, I saw this tension...the other side of the fence is a vista of bushland & beautiful rolling hills. As we live in a place where even National Parks are being examined for 'mining possibilities" the next steps and decisions seem difficult.

Without petrol I imagine i will lose paid work and Community Development dynamic gatherings, fun with most friends' and unreachable foods. How did i get to such a dependance on oil?
