Fab New Year’s Eve. We did a vegan buffet for nine of us followed by Dixit, which caused a lot of hilarity. The phrase for this round was “Brexit” ... Apparently the card on the right was meant to symbolise Michael Gove.

Jools Holland’s hootenanny can be annoying but there were some terrific performances this year, particularly Trombone Shorty and Soul II Soul.

Great food, fireworks from London on the big screen and generally a lot of fun.
