Turkey Trotters

Kathy wanted to see the new area that I explored on my motorcycle earlier this week.

As we cruised up the road in our car I was telling her about the turkey hen and her chicks that I'd seen.

We drove around the next bend in the road. Lo and behold their she was with her chicks foraging along the edge of the road.

My little camera was out of my pocket in two shakes of a turkey tail.

Gosh, they are easily spooked critters.

As we slowly passed them the hen figured out I that was looking at them through an open window.

She signaled the chicks to scram and they were off like a shot. Even though panning as best I could, the above blurred photo is what came home with us.

It was a kick to get a reprise on these wild birds with the bonus that I could share them with Kathy.
