Menin Gate, Ypres

Remembering the courage of the fallen.

I arrived back home late last night and today we took my mother in law, who is visiting, to Ypres for the memorial service. It was as moving and emotional as ever. The kids were fantastic and very respectful. After the service and exploring the area we went to the Passchendaele museum which is a favourite of ours so that the kids could explore the trenches.

We rounded off the day with an Italian restaurant which my mother in law clearly enjoyed. Brownie points!
