Stornoway Harbour

Today's the day ............................ to tie up

A rather gloomy, dark day to end the old year here in Stornoway - and pretty quiet too, it being the Sabbath.

Although things are not so rigidly adhered to nowadays, there are still a few restrictions in place and none of the supermarkets were open today.  No bad thing either, I say!  The Hogmanay Ceilidh was actually held last night, a day ahead of itself so that everyone could let their hair down with impunity.  And what fun it was!  Willie Campbell and friends provided the music (see extra) and there was something for all tastes.

So tonight, we're just peacefully at home chez Alasdair and Seonag - but somehow I think it will nevertheless turn into the spirited good night of entertainment that it always does.

I hope your Hogmanay will be just the way you like it - and wish you and yours all that's good for 2018 . . . . . . . . . . .
