End the year on good news.

H.M.Coastguard was established in 1822. It has 352 rescue teams spread around the coast of the UK. We are lucky to have a station here in Arnside which is well equipped especially with the tools necessary to rescue people from the quicksands, mud and fast tides in the estuary.
Often people do not realise that the whole system is manned by 3500 volunteers. They receive special training but just like the mountain rescue teams they give their time and energy for the safety of the community.
