Hungry
Milo has had his hair cut today. While he was having his trim we went to New Alresford for coffee and cake. Having been to the supermarket to buy some bread for the ducks we went down to the Old Alresford Pond. The pond is between Old and New Alresford
New Alresford was founded in the 12th/13th century, the idea originally being that of Henri de Blois, the Bishop of Winchester and brother of King Stephen of England. The design of the T-shaped town (originally named Novum Forum) was followed by de Blois' successor Godfrey de Lucy. Alresford was one of the Bishop's six new towns and was his most profitable plantation-his palace was situated in nearby Bishop's Sutton, perhaps less than a mile distant. This expansion also involved the construction of the Great Weir between New Alresford and Old Alresford, creating Old Alresford Pond. The pond was probably constructed as a fish pond to supply the Bishops palace in Bishops Sutton and provide a head of water to allow mills to operate downstream
While Mr F fed them, I blipped the ducks, geese, coots and swans. These geese had just rushed over from the other side of the pond to join the party
Go large to see the ripples
The things that made me smile:
Milo looks really neat and is much easier to stroke now that he has less fur. Yes I'll blip him soon
Exercise: I ran up every flight of steps in the shops this afternoon
Huge thank you for my 350th blip making it to the spotlight. Photo Mouse now has a little chum ready for my 365th
