The ruins of Howden Minster
On a trip back home to Hessle where I lived for the first 18 years of my life, and have since visited regularly for the following 30 plus years(not to give my age away too accurately) I finally visited the historic town of Howden. It's only 15 miles or so from my old stomping ground and I must have driven past it on the A63 hundreds of times. The minster is very impressive. There is a functioning church and ruins of an earlier medieval church which looked magnificent in the sunshine.
