This fab wee Viking warrior from Shetland was helping get the Year of Young People in Scotland 2018 off to a roaring start this evening as part of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations.

As the Torchlight Procession wound its way down the Royal Mile, gathering in Holyrood Park, the torchbearers were ushered into formation to spell out in flames the #Scotword - the word chosen by young people to describe the year to the rest of the world. And that word is: Braw!

It was such a magical event - thousands of diverse torchbearers; the hashtag and the Scotword projected onto Salisbury Crags - all to start to celebrate our awesome young Scots. I’ll admit to having a bit of a “wow” moment...

It’s going to be amazing.
