After the rain

There was a flood alert last night in the village and surrounding areas. I got a text, email, phone call and mobile phone message all at the same time from Floodline to “be prepared”. I got the sandbags out of the shed in readiness but they weren’t needed. This morning I walked by the river it was much higher than usual, fast flowing and very muddy with lots of debris.
