Christmas Rose

The winter has hardly started before Helleboris niger flowers, but I look on it as a hint of spring to come. Today it has a sprinkling of rather sleety snow. Our plant seems a bit reduced from previous years; I think perhaps it is being crowded out by the summer plants.
