The Big Clyde Question Mark
Last Saturday's blip came from down river, from the not so small questions marks being placed in the river Clyde at Parklea and Langbank.
This Saturday's jaunt was to further up river at Finnieston, to see the Big Clyde Question Mark which, as of yesterday, is now hanging from the Titan crane.
The 10m question mark is suspended from the very crane where George Wyllie's Straw Locomotive once hung. That was in 1987 and for many Glaswegians it remains in their memory, an emotional symbol of a declining industry.
George Wyllie's scul?tures were all about questioning and questions. The Clyde Question Marks, like the education initiative, are part of the WhysMan Festival and there are many more questions to come, from the youngest participant to the oldest.
It's great to see the past being celebrated, the present being questioned, the future being anticipated.
