Sonntraten

An early morning text from a sick friend meant that our planned group hike and overnight stay in a mountain hut were cancelled. Bummer. But Liane came up with a fine alternative, a hike up the Sonntraten near Lenggries. Just the four of us, so a mini-group, and probably a much shorter climb than I'd expected but the snow was deep enough that shorter was fine! There were lots of folk walking, skiing and sledging but the hill was much quieter than most around here because there's no hut at the top to dispense food and drink. This is the view back down the trail not long after we'd started out. The extra is a view from the top.
Some good food on the way back and a wee doze in the car as Gerhard drove as back to
Penzberg rounded things off. Despite that doze I then crashed on the couch as soon as we were home!
