Great Northern Diver

Tootled to Sharpness today to get a shot of the Great Northern Diver, a winter visitor to Britain.

Strong underwater swimmers they have been known to stay underwater for minutes on end and this one was no exception. With the strong low sunshine and blasting winds up the Severn Estuary getting a shot wasn't easy and nearly being lifted off my feet with the gusts I didn't fancy being plummeted in to swim with it! 

Thrilled and excited with the engagement of #1 son yesterday  - very happy for them.
