Rickety
One of the bamboo bridges across the Nam Khan, just near the confluence with the mighty Mekong. It has to be rebuilt every year after the rainy season. We'll neither of us be crossing it, to be honest. For me, it would probably be a physical thing. For Mr A, it's a vertigo thing.
We've had a lovely chilled day wandering the streets of Luang Prabang, which is a really pleasant wee city. We found a great place to eat and went back not only for lunch, but also for dinner. We had a 2 for 1 "sundowner" deal for drinks at a posh hotel. We drank excellent fresh juices (apple/pear and mango/orange) as well as extraordinarily good (fairtrade) coffee. When we went out for dinner, there was accidentally a bit of retail therapy. Results may be revealed in due course. I had a couple of short swims, although the hotel pool is rather chilly. Perhaps it might warm up over the next few days, although I doubt it.
The weather is largely overcast and somewhere between 18 degrees and 25 degrees. For some people, that means coats, at least some of the time. For those of us from Scotland via Helsinki, that's taps aff weather.
