Torea Tai in flight
A pied morph of the Variable Oystercatcher (called Torea Tai by Maori) took flight, in flight from me approaching where it was resting on rocks with its fellows.
The first extra today is a black morph of the same species, called Torea Pango by Maori.
I have also added a second extra of a noisy young kotare (kingfisher) which stayed on this rock calling loudly (and being apparently ignored) until finally it flew away to resume nearby, the loud and insistent call to parent(s).
