It's cold..............Brrrrrrrrrr................
This morning I had a little half hour trek around the streets of Morningside. It was cold. The pavements were icy and we were skidding about all over the place. Apparently it was minus 4C last night.
….........And then, after I'd had my breakfast which I didn't eat Ann left me home alone for snooze time. Yay! I'm pretty tired after my Xmas hols. First she had to take the car to 'Kwikfit' because the warning light to check the tyre pressure had come on during our drive home yesterday. Ann loves the 'Kwikfit fitters'. You can't get better than a Kwikfit fitter! Then she had to pop to the bank to cancel a couple of direct debits, ie 'Scottish Power' who we hate but we must not RANT! and BT.
…...................Need to have a teeny weeny RANT about the bank......................
Ann stopped going into banks years ago, because every time she went in, the staff tried to make appointments for her to have a 'review'. And Ann didn't want to have a review?! Today she was greeted by two 12 year olds OK, they might have been 20 or possibly even 30.................. or 40? who said, 'How can we help you today?' Ann said, 'I just need to cancel a couple of direct debits; I'll go to that bank teller over there.' 12 year old who obviously wasn't 12 said, 'I can do that for you on my ipad.'.....................
…................At that point Ann thought '12 year old' would take her off somewhere private. But oh no he didn't. He asked her to have a seat on the sofas very nice sofas – credit where credit is due – and proceeded to pull all of her account details up on the ipad and discuss all of her details, (ie the amount of money she has in her account) in full few of everyone else?! The fact that there was no one else in the bank at the time has nothing to do with this – there could have been a queue a mile long.
And then..................... after the two direct debits had been cancelled, he proceeded to 'talk' in a very loud voice about how Ann should change her account to something else. Obviously at that point Ann said, 'Thanks very much', and walked out.
Totally understand how everyone that works in a bank is now working towards targets and has to 'sell' as much as possible. It's just a pity that the 'powers that be' don't believe that personal service is important any more. OK RANT OVER!
Soooooooooooooooooo............................... after Ann's traumatic morning, off we went to the 'Bridge Inn' at Ratho to meet Ann's friends, Kay & Allison for lunch and a walk.
I LOVE going out for lunch. Kay fed me little bits of steak and Allison fed me little bits of sausage and Ann didn't feed me anything we went for a walk along the canal. Most of the canal was frozen over so I didn't even attempt to go splish, splash, sploshing. We walked for about an hour.
Home now and I'm snoozing in my bed. My dinner's been out for two hours but I don't want it.
…...............Sometimes all a little collie wants................... is to snooze in her bed.
Goodnight all. xxxxx
