Fourth Day of Christmas

On the fourth day of Christmas 
the Season gave to me
four choral songs
three saxes  
(and some extras) 
Two black crows
and an Asda Christmas pudding luxury

An alternative title for today might easily be "A Song for the cycle of Life" when this evening, after a particularly jolly day (see above), I was blessed with the perfect gift by watching a former student, a graduate of '03, now professional operatic soprano (Aylin Sezer), give a recital on the very stage where it all started when at sweet 16, she played Maria in our 'Sound of Music' production in 1999. To see the woman from that girl, to hear the mature voice that transported an entire theatre audience tonight, I am slightly embarrassed to say that I spent most of the recital with blurred vision, and wasn't the only one.
