Over the Limit
His Lordship seemed well pleased with his wine purchases after we stocked up for Hogmanay and New Year. This despite the fact that we will very likely be abed well before the bells if the experience of former years is anything to go by.
However it is better to be safe than sorry should the unexpected first foot come through the door before we have set foot outside on New Year’s Day. Although my Bailey’s bottle is not visible, it is there, I am assured.
It is hard to stay indoors when the sun is relentlessly shining and the temperature is not much higher inside than the outside. I was propelled out to join the meandering of families enjoying the space of the Meadows rather than the throng of humanity in the City Centre with the Christmas Markets and the sales in full swing; half a mile in distance between me and them, but two different worlds.
