Is that a rainbow I see?
Dear Diary,
Someone once told me that I could find diamonds in a trash heap, I think it was a compliment. Anyway, my world is a frozen wonderland right now with morning temperatures around -15F and day time temperatures in single digits. On my trip to the clinic yesterday I "Oo'd and Ah'd" all the way down the road. It was so beautiful.
I had to try and capture the look of the sunlight on the frozen trees, not terribly successfully but I noticed that the light reflecting off the ice had produced a tiny rainbow! I couldn't believe my eyes! Rainbows are such a sigh of hope and renewal. It really lifted my spirits.
The "great" news is that this is just your common variety nasty chest cold and it will run its course in due time so today I plan to do what I do best, rest, nap, drink plenty of liquids and cuddle with Emerson who has been a real trooper through this all. Thanks to all who have shown such kind concern, you have no idea how much it means to me. I was reminded of a favorite quote by Julian of Norwich by a fellow blipper, "This too shall pass." and it will.
