Morning snow

Wednesday 27th December 2017 (1950)

It was snowing when we woke up. A check of the roads told us of major hold ups on the A1. We decided not to rush. After a late breakfast we set off on the 2hr journey, which took 3.5hrs. My brother set off five minutes after me and arrived an hour ahead. He had the advantage of local knowledge and also a working satnav with travel news. I just had to sit it out in the traffic jam! 

Our destination was the Belton Woods Hotel in Grantham. A very nice 4 star spa hotel.  To unwind I swam half a mile in the lovely pool. We have had a nice relaxing evening in the restaurant, with lovely food, and in the bar playing cards. This is a real treat.
