Pohutukawa

I so love our pohutukawa flower with it's bright red colour and yellow tips.  It really means it's Christmas when we find this out in bloom.  It flowered early which showed we would have a long hot summer, so far we have had a hot summer and very little rain.

We took the kayaks ups the coast for a play as it was too windy to go out in the boat for a fish.  The rest of the family were on the kayaks and I was wandering along the beach with the camera.
