Alone and Not Alone

I took this photo of the heron and her mirrored self almost a week ago, before the Christmas crazies caught me up in a mad and maddening dance. On this day of herons and pelicans being true to themselves, the perfect winter light invited me to be true to myself as well. Thankfully, my camera gives the day back to me now that Christmas is over. 

In the extra, a pelican performs its toilette on a post, while my camera eye falls in love with feathers.
