Happy Christmas

Almost nothing about our Christmas has gone to plan this year for a variety of reasons. But we don't let much stop us in our family. Even if it means taking (part of) the party to the hospital.

All is now well (Boxing Day) but it was a funny old day, at the end of a funny old weekend.

We still managed stupid games & battles over the end of the chocolate log, I didn't destroy the gin cheesecake when given responsibility for it and the annual Newmarket tournament drew blood for the first time ever.

Katie's highlights included her joke gift of a bag of chopped onions (I had been teasing her that she was getting an onion for Christmas), a monkey that projects stars onto the ceiling and the "green" round of Name 5 Things.

My highlights included her beautifully forgiving attitude when she thought I was telling her I'd left her presents at home (I was telling her I'd left the ones she'd bought for me, but at the same time she remembered and apologised), her laughter at the onion gift and her moment of realisation that our Christmas dinner is usually a 3 course meal- it turns out she's not in her memory been awake for all 3! Though it then transpired we didn't actually eat all three as one meal this year anyway, as a consequence of hospital visiting.

Merry Christmas to all
