Taking Stock

The big day has passed, and now it is time to put the feet up and take a moment to relax. It’s just great to have the family around you, yet with all the help at hand there always seems to be a hundred and one things still to worry about, however unnecessary. One year in particular I recall that our oven ceased working on Christmas Eve.
No such calamities this year and admittedly I spent most of Christmas Day being royally looked after. I didn’t even have to switch the oven on, yet alone attend to the cooking. Nor did I have to pour myself a drink, So all in all a pampered Christmas Day. Yet somehow Boxing Day provides the opportunity to take stock of everything,
