Colwith Force

After an afternoon and and night of heavy rain it seemed a good time to bag some waterfalls. A short walk from Skellwith Bridge brings you to Colwith Force which were very impressive, crashing over the rocks with a noise you could hear half a mile away. Treading very carefully on the slippery rocks and tree roots I managed to find a spot to shoot the upper falls. Having arrived early I had the place to myself for about an hour before the first hikers arrived.

Later in the day I went into Ambleside and climbed up to the falls just outside the town and then Rydal Falls which were equally impressive.
