Susan entertaining the guests

A Merry Christmas to you all. I hope you all had the day you wanted today. We had a lovely, if busy day entertaining the elderly.

For the last few years we have travelled to Scotland for Christmas but not this year. We’re travelling up on Thursday for Hogmanay. Doreen is staying with us so we invited her long standing next door neighbours to join us.

I once again failed in one of my life’s ambitions to make Conchia laugh at one of my admittedly terrible jokes or asides. That apart, everything else went well, on time, cooked through and enjoyed by all.

I’d fitted in a run before our guests arrived and we managed to sneak out for a 4 mile walk around 7pm to try to counteract the indulgences of the day.

Managed a call to Matt and a fleeting conversation with Miya and a FaceTime conversation with Chris and De’Shaun with Landon gurgling contentedly in his chair. A very pleasant end to a good day.

We hope you all enjoyed your day too. The allotment vegetables were just the ticket.
